My thoughts on Steve Jobs' MacWorld Expo 2006 keynote
What’s in it for me?

If you haven’t seen the keynote webcast or read about it on MacWorld or MacDevCenter (more structured), you should! I haven’t seen the webcast yet, I’ll probably do that tomorrow night.
Personally, I’m slightly disappointed—in that there was no product for me.
FM tuner for iPods? Yay! But wait, only current models. Bah. (Well, at least Christina can get one for her Video iPod, but we were talking about products for me, weren’t we?)
Widgets? Bah. Never use them.
iLife? Bah. I don’t have a .Mac account, and I’m not interested in broadcasting myself all over the place or plague my friends and family with cards and calendars. If I were, I’d much rather make them myself, anyway, than use any kind of template or “one-click” wizard.
iWeb? No thanks, I use Textpattern.
iWork? Er, what’s that again?
Intel Macs? Okay, this is a big yay and step forward, but a) we all knew they were coming, and b) I’m all covered for some time yet, hardware-wise, so it’s not for me.
Maybe something more exciting will be announced when Apple turns 30 on April 1st.
